DHC-6 Twin Otter

Greetings once again fellow flight simmers!!!!
It has been a long absence for me, but I must say, I am very happy to be back flying again.
This time around have the opportunity to test out another very nice and rather popular durable aircraft for FSX...
This is a VERY nicely done little aircraft by AeroSoft for FSX called the the DHC-6 Twin Otter!!
Once again Let’s start off with the Pros…
Beautiful appearence!! You are also given a good variety of configurations!!
You are given a good variety of paint schemes…
Sound package is exceptional!!
Handling ….
The external looks of the A/C are VERY nice!! I could not pick out any misaligned panel or rivet lines. All control surfaces have the correct range of travel. The external model was very nicely done!!! The props seem to look a little puny, but this is just an optical illusion... they do on the real one as well. There are a number of different configurations... i.e. Traditional landing gear, Ski's, and floats!!!
Skins… there a good number of skins with this package that will work well for those that do online missions.
Sound package… it is well done and sounds quite good.
Handling… It seems to be about as accurate as you can get within the constraints of FSX.
It stalls when it should… and as with the real bird, requires a pretty fair amount of adjustments in trim… Climb and acceleration rates for various configurations seem to be pretty much right on the numbers… take off speed also vary with the configurations as well. All V speeds seem to be pretty accurate… there are some that are a little off… but they can’t be helped due to FSX constraints.
Radio’s, and auto pilot all function properly as well. The navigation electronics setup is VERY well done... and I advise learning it if you are going to do much cross country in this bird!!
This is a VERY nice little airplane to go for an afternoon trip in. I flew it from Juneau, Alaska to Anchorage… Was a very nice flight!!!
The Cons…
To be honest... the only one I can even remotely think of is maybe the lack of a 2D cockpit.... but then, I can't really call that a negative. This is definitely an aircraft you need to get to know prior to flying, which may turn off some of those that like to just hop in start up and go!!! I don't know if the comms and nav system is standard on most DHC-6's or not... the one I flew was a bit more bare bones than this one... but still just as fun to fly!!!
Honestly… THAT is the only thing I could find as a detractor… and it certainly is NOT a major one!!!!
One more thing that is VERY nice with this A/C package is that AeroSoft included in pdf form, a very good and informative manual!!!
I am VERY happy with this aircraft and I must say I give it absolutely top marks!!!!

wow great review for a superb aircraft, another bird for my hanger
